The World
- Niralata: The overall continent world we are on. This name combines the Sanskrit word “Nirala” meaning unique, and the Egyptian word “Lata” meaning star.
- Havenreach – the peninsula where Haven’s End is located- the small coatal town on the south western tip of the continent. The year is 1021, older years are known as the Old Era. This is based on when the first Solnoxist temple was build for the Solnoxism religion.
- Azurajat – The Niraxi homelands, and the location of the meteorite impact that created Spectrocite, high in the montains. It translates to “sphere of sky blue life”. The impact crater created by the meteor formed a unique and diverse ecosystem, with jagged rocks and ridges, as well as areas of regrowth and rejuvenation.
- Kir’i Isle – the island paradise where Mar’i is from. Remote and only accessible by boat, it is volcanic in origin and sorrouned by dangerous spires. Home of the best Lullaweed you will ever find.
- Nefersol – Kieran’s homeland. Its people known as the Nefersi. In Egyptian culture, blue symbolized the heavens and was associated with the sky god, Horus. In Sanskrit culture, the color purple represented spiritual awareness and was associated with the deity Krishna. Combining these cultural influences, Nefersol could be a culture that is deeply connected to the sky and spirituality, with a reverence for blue and purple. An Indian-inspired region, perhaps located near the Jade Kingdom to the east. This region could be known for its lush tropical forests, rich spices, and vibrant culture.
- The Jade Kingdom – Mei-Ling’s homeland
- The Drylands: A vast desert region to the north-east of Haven’s End, bordering the twin mountains of Sky Edge and Star Crest. This region isknown for its harsh conditions, dangerous sandstorms, and nomadic tribes.
- Akashazon also known as Skyheart: The region of Akashazon, also known as Skyheart, combines elements of both Native American and Peruvian cultures, with a focus on the majesty of the sky and the mountains that define the area. The area is known for its spiritual connection to the sky and the mountain spirits, and the people there may have a strong connection to animals, especially those native to the mountains. This unique blend of cultures creates a rich tapestry of traditions, beliefs, and way of life for the residents of Akashazon. The people of this region believe that every living being has a spirit guide in the form of an animal, which they can commune with to gain strength and guidance.
- The Tundra: A frozen wasteland to the far north, beyond the Drylands and the twin mountains. This region could be home to hardy, fur-clad people who have adapted to the harsh conditions.
- The Steppes: A rolling grassland region to the east of Haven’s End, stretching from the Oasis to the Drylands. This region could be known for its wide-open spaces, horse-riding cultures, and nomadic herders.
Current Cultural Influences:
Island culture: Kir’i Isle has been influenced by the cultures of Pacific island nations, such as Polynesian, Micronesian, and Melanesian cultures.
Chinese culture: The Jade Kingdom is influenced by Chinese culture, particularly the culture of the Tang dynasty.
Indian culture: Nefersol is influenced by Indian culture, including Sanskrit and Hinduism.
Czech culture: Azurajat is influenced by Czech culture, including Bohemian crystal and the culture of the Sudeten Germans.
Native American culture: Skyheart is influenced by Native American cultures, particularly those of the Pacific Northwest.
Peruvian culture: Skyheart is also influenced by Peruvian culture, including the Inca civilization.
European culture: Solnoxism, the religion worshipped across the continent, has been influenced by the Crusades and the forced spread of Christianity in Europe.
